12 books for 2025
Jan 1, 2026
Few years ago I somehow lost the habit of reading, being caught up with various responsibilities as I grew out of teenagehood. It was once a source of pride, and I considered myself a well-read person. It slowly became a pervasive sense of shame, having abandoned a sort of intellectual routine which I had made part of my identity growing up, and seeing my vocabulary dwindle by the years. I decided to slowly get back to it in 2025, and attempt to keep a yearly trace of what I read.
Here a selection of books that accompanied me throughout last year:
-
Neuromancer — William Gibson
-
Consider Phlebas — Iain M. Banks
-
The Player of Games — Iain M. Banks
-
Use of Weapons — Iain M. Banks
-
The State of the Art — Iain M. Banks
-
Franchise — Isaac Asimov
-
The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction — Walter Benjamin (re-read)
-
Le Mage du Kremlin — Giuliano da Empoli
-
Vous ne détestez pas le lundi, vous détestez la domination au travail — Nicolas Framont
-
Appel à la vigilance — Edwy Plenel
-
The Communist Manifesto — Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels (re-read)
-
Saint Luigi — Nicolas Framont
